  Chapter One

  The Chosen One

  Chronicler

Let me tell you a story about a young busy bee named Buzzy Quickson. He’s incredibly awesome in many ways but at the same token, I can honestly say that he’s just like you. On a distant Planet named Bop in the near future of the year 2077 where music is the source of all power, a courageous, game changing lion named Grandmaster Fearless left a serious impression on Buzzy as a kid. I swear he knew exactly what he was going to become. As a lion with a ton of heart, Fearless was the City of San Blues hero. San Blue was a city that was on top of the world. It was the only city that was built on mountains. The city buildings that sat on the mountain illuminate day or night. Grandmaster Fearless was the type of guy that the citizens named streets after. He was the lion that served food for thought. As a DJ on satellite radio, he could do more good for people in a day than what anybody could ever do for themselves in years. He was also the protector of this mountain. However, as great and wise of a grandmaster he was, he wasn’t getting any younger. He realized that he had to find a young and bright kid to pass this knowledge to. So he set out to find that special child. After searching high and low, the search brought him back to an adoption home/daycare that he helped build. The Grandmaster looked around at all the kids that were playing and having fun. But no kid stood out to him… that is… until he looked toward the door by the kitchen. It was Buzzy, sitting on the floor playing with some learning program on his lap. Anytime he pressed a shape in the picture, it told him the name of the shape. For some reason, he was obsessed with the oval shape. He just kept pressing it. Fearless suddenly realized what he was doing. He was making a beat out of it. He heard the device say,

This is an oval, oval, oval

  Oval, oval

This is an oval, oval, oval

  Oval, oval

Buzzy then cheered, “O, O! Yay!” It made Fearless chuckle inside. Suddenly one of the cooks came from the kitchen with food. He looked like he could barely carry all the plates in his hands.

“Alright children, time for lunch.” He suddenly slipped on skateboard lying in the middle of the floor. Fearless gasped as the cook was falling. As he was falling closer to the ground, Buzzy sprung up and caught his head then quickly sat him up, then caught a plate of cookies, then the plate of sandwiches, then the jug of juice. Lunch was saved. Buzzy sat them down on the floor. All of the adults’ jaws dropped. Buzzy thought nothing of it as he sat back down and continued playing with that oval shouting toy. Fearless grabbed the housemother.

“Hey, who is that kid?” he asked.

“Oh that’s Buzzy Quickson.” she said, “He always does something amazing like that from time to time. However, he mainly stays to himself wearing those big sunglasses. He’s always playing with that learning bored.”

“Tell me more about him.” he requested.

“Well he is five years old, he had heart surgery a year ago and get this, his heart is a small stereo system. As long as we’ve known him, he always had quite the sense of rhythm and not to mention, quick hands.”

“I want to raise him.” he said, “May I speak with him?”

“I don’t see why not.” she answered. Fearless nodded his head then turned and yelled,

“Hey little bee, come over here for a sec. Your name is Buzzy right? That’s quite the name there kid. Let me tell you something. I see something in you. I see a power inside of you that’s so great, that the world will soon know it as something iconic. From this point on, you are the chosen one. You will be a trailblazer and Planet Bop power generator and savior. Do you know why I chose you? It’s because you’re lucky. As a baby you survived a big heart surgery. Now you have a stereo speaker for a heart. Everything you touch turns into something that shines everywhere and lives everlasting through everyone. Even as the child that you are, you’ve done so many phenomenal things with those very hands. Now I’m going to show you an art that you will never forget. I will show you the ways of the Turntablist. Music and magic is what you will know and love. From this point on, you will be my apprentice, DJ B-Quick the Spinner Supreme…”

Ten years later Buzzy came into his own essence of freshness. As he leaned against his motorcycle with his headphones around his neck, fiddling with his mp3 playlist in his left hand, and gaming with his phone with his right. They were both interrupted by an incoming call from Grandmaster Fearless. Buzzy answered the call,

  “Yes Grandmaster?”

“Where are you?” asked Fearless, “We are going live on the air in five minutes!”

“Don’t sweat it,” said Buzzy, “I’m almost there. As a matter of fact, start without me.”

  “What?” Fearless shouted.

“I said, start without me! I’ll be there.” Buzzy exclaimed.

“Ok I’m going in. I’ll see you in five.” Fearless replied. Buzzy hung up the phone. He hopped on his bike then burned rubber and bolted to the big radio tower at the top of the mountain. Buzzy popped a wheelie and burst through the double doors. He parked his bike in the lobby then took the elevator all the way up. He heard Fearless on the on the intercom of the elevator.

“He’s on now.” Buzzy thought. Fearless was speaking to all the radio listeners.

“What’s happening, San Blue! It’s your man with the plan Grandmaster Fearless on your radio dial. We’re about to kick off this hot afternoon with an even hotter power hour mix with my sidekick and your favorite guy on the ones and twos. Give it up for DJ B-Quick, The Spinner Supreme!” Suddenly Buzzy kicked in the door and jacked his headphones into the turntables and got busy. Now the thing about Buzzy is that when all the listeners heard that he was going on, the whole city tunes in.

  Fikki fikki

  Ere ere

And then the beat dropped. All of San Blue felt his work. One could see the colorful vibrations leave the tower and spread all across San Blue. Everyone caught it like a big wave. It made everyone feel good inside and out. Even through the radio, they could hear the artistic scratching, beat matching, and precise timing of every song. It was undoubtedly a magical illumination that started in the cerebellum and then fluttered down the spine. Everyday DJ B-Quick delivered an entire sixty minutes of musical goodness to the people. As he mixed, Fearless would answer the phone lines for requests and Buzzy would play them.

And just like that, the hour was over. Fearless then opened the lines up to give out advice to whomever needed it while Buzzy sat and listened.

“Caller number one thanks for calling.” said Fearless.

“Hello?” said the caller, “I’m on the radio!”

“Turn your radio down,” said Fearless, “What’s your question?”

“Ok…um…. My question is I’ve wanted to ask this girl out on a date for a long time. How do I go about doing that?”

“Ah a love question,” Fearless chuckled, “I hope you don’t mind me answering your question with a question, but have you tried asking her? Nothing will happen until you do. It’s time to grow some bolts; lightning bolts that is, and shock her world by asking her out. I’m surprised you waited this long.”

“Alright, thanks Fearless,” said the caller. The Grandmaster then answered another caller,

“Next caller, you’re on the air.”

“Hello Fearless. It’s been awhile. Long time no see.” said the mysterious voice. Fearless was a bit skeptical of the voice.

“Sorry buddy, I have many friends. Who am I on the line with?” he asked. The voice laughed as studio speakers started to sound distorted and full of static.

“Turn your radio down!” Fearless told the caller.

“What? You don’t recognize the voice of the guy you d
enied radio time to? All you had to do was play my demo tape.” he said.

“Alright kid look,” said Fearless, “We don’t do crank calls here. I’m going to hang up now.” As he was about to press the hang up button, the caller then yelled,

“It’s MC Crispy you moron!” the voice shouted, “And I wouldn’t drop this call if you know what’s good for you.” Buzzy witnessed the Grandmasters face become serious.

  “I’m listening.” said Fearless.

“Now listen and you listen good sucker.” said Crispy.

“I said I was listening. Was that not clear?” Fearless answered back.

“Whatever!” snapped Crispy,” I’m coming back for revenge. You will give me the credit that I deserve. Since you denied me power, I’m coming back up to San Blue. I left the mountain and made a deal with Dekeeto the dragon. And Now we are coming back to take everything. Your radio tower belongs to me now. Its mine! This is the end of you, Fearless. Surrender now because winning against me is not going to happen.”

“You diluted fool. Well, bring it on kid,” responded Fearless, “I’m not hiding. You want a shot at the title, come get it!” MC Crispy hung up. Fearless sat back in his chair. Buzzy was definitely worried.

“Grandmaster, I’m thrown off here. What’s going on?” he asked.

“Transfer the speakers to the outside of the balcony.” Ordered Fearless as he got out of the chair. Fearless made it out to the balcony and made a speech to the people below who were waiting on what he was going to say.

“If you were listening to the radio then we have confirmed the fact that yes we are in danger. MC Crispy has come back, and more importantly, Dekeeto the dragon is with him and his vengeance. Dekeeto is a dangerous creature that should be taken seriously at all cost. And for that reason, I will ask you to evacuate the city. The day of reckoning is upon us and looking at my watch, we don’t have much time. NOW GO! I will stay here and fight for our home. And remember everyone, don’t panic!”

“Noooo! I’m too young to die.” A woman from the crowd yelled. After that statement, everyone broke out into severe panic. The citizens scattered trying to get their belongings and leave the mountain. Everyone was packing their clothes and locking their doors leaving their houses. Fearless took a deep breath then walked in from the balcony. Buzzy ran over to him as he adjusted his glasses.

“Grandmaster, who is this guy and what are we going to do?” he asked.

“MC Crispy is a fallen rapper that has left our land to seek a power that I would not give to him.” said Fearless, “So him being a lone wolf he traveled far and wide to the ends of the planet to make a deal with the Dekeeto Dragon to give him the power that he longed for to take over the world. I banished the dragon into a cave on the east coast. He was unable to get out. Unfortunately a couple of years ago I wouldn’t play MC Crispys demo tape because his songs were terrible. I told him to go back to the drawing board but he just threw a fit and said that I would regret those words. Now he’s coming up the mountain to knock me off of it.”

Suddenly, a roaring voice was heard from the bottom of the mountain,

“FEARLESS! It is I, MC Crispy!” he yelled, “It’s payback time and you will give me the credit that I deserve once I destroy you! San Blue will be mine!” Crispy, a grey wolf with a fitted baseball cap and eyes filled with fire was riding on the head of Dekeeto. The mountain was too high for it to fly up. The dragon started climbing up the mountain, along with an army behind him. The army was in helicopters, and tanks. Fearless then turned to Buzzy. He placed his hands on his shoulders and told him,

“Now here’s what we are going to do. I am going to hold them off while you make an escape off of San Blue. I’m going to be straight up with you Buzzy. I’m not going to win this battle. These powers that we are facing are way beyond me. My powers are weakening the older I get.”

“What?” Buzzy exclaimed, “What do you mean? I can’t just leave you here with this guy!”

“Yes you can and you will!” said Fearless, “This is what I’ve been training you for. After all of these years, ever since I’ve adopted you as my student and son, this is the moment for you to save this world. There’s an escape tunnel that leads down the mountain from the lobby. Take that route and you will have to find and combine these four artifacts and make them work together before you can come back and defeat our enemy. You must take this Rope Chain of Destiny.” he took the golden chain from around his neck and placed it around Buzzys neck. He then continued, “This will help you harness your powers. Then you must head south to get the Microphone of Influence, then east for the Headphones of the Beyond, and finally, the Shoes of Attitude from the west. Oh and there’s one more thing you have to find on your journey. I can’t tell you what it is but you will know once you find it.”

“This is so overwhelming. I can’t believe this is happening,” said Buzzy, “How am I going to do all of this, Grandmaster?”

“It starts with the first step DJ B-Quick,” said Fearless, “and the first step is through the tunnel in the lobby.” Fearless twirled his finger and a GPS system appeared in his hand. He gave it to Buzzy.

“I’ve programmed the route to each treasure you have to find. Now hurry,” said the Grandmaster, “we don’t have much time.” Buzzy ran to the elevator he then stopped, turned around and ran back to give Fearless one last hug.

“I’m going to miss you, Grandmaster. I don’t know if I can do this alone.” he said.

“Trust me,” said Fearless, “You’ll never be alone.” Suddenly, he used his telepathic powers to lift Buzzy and threw him into the elevator and closed it on him.”

“Hey wait!” Buzzy yelled as the doors closed. Fearless then flew up to the top of the tower and waited with folded arms for Crispy to arrive at his feet. Meanwhile, Crispy made it to the town. The dragon blew fire on houses as the people were running in terror.

“Yes!” said Crispy, “Fear me! Cower in my presence knowing that there is nothing that Grandmaster Fearless can do about it!” the wolf let out an evil laugh enjoying his revenge. Buzzy made it down to the lobby. He saw his bike as he ran and hopped on it. Suddenly, a wall lifted open. It was the secret tunnel that lead off the mountain. Buzzy revved up his bike and blasted off. Buzzy turned on his headlights through the darkness. The narrow tunnel was full of twist and turns. There were a few points where Buzzy looped upside down in the tunnel.

The town was in a raving fire. The clouds where grey and thick, full of lightning that struck harder and harder the closer Crispy got to Fearless. The dragon climbed up the tower as Fearless patiently waited. He heard the striking thuds get closer and closer to him. Fearless was not moved at all by the viciousness that was lingering under him. He saw the dragons’ gigantic left hand stomped on the Grandmasters right side, then the right hand that stomped on his left, then, the head that emerged with MC Crispy on top of it. The dragon slammed his head in front of Fearless. Hot air blew roughly from his nostrils, so hard that it blew the Grandmasters dreadlocks back with every single exhale that the dragon released. Crispy walked down the scaled nose and onto the rooftop in front of Fearless. Dekeeto then disappeared and its essence flew into Crispys back. Fearless peered into Crispys eyes. Crispys flaming eyes looked back at him as he said,

“What are you going to do now, Fearless? I’m back like I never left, bigger, badder, and better than you! How do you like me now?”

“You are still the same peon that left months ago,” said Fearless, “Instead of stepping your game up like a real MC, you just decided to cheat instead and make a deal with an evil dragon. What point is it to gain the world if you lose your soul? It’s a shame that you still don’t know that real power comes from respect, not fear.”

“That’s where you’re wrong,” said Crispy, “I will put the fear of a rap god in you!” he flew in the air with and screamed loudly as lightning struck his body making him stronger. He then rapped,

It’s time for you to bow down a
nd feel my wrath/

The destruction of you will be the aftermath/

In case you didn’t know, you no longer matter/

Consider this the end of the Grandmaster/

Fearless stomped the ground making it quake as he yelled, “Amplify!!” he jumped in the air for the attack. Crispy flew toward him. The clash was so heavy that it made thunder strikes. Fearless held him off as long as he could with amazing blows and cool moves that a Grandmaster should know. He figured it was long enough for Buzzy to make his escape. So he stopped fighting knowing that he had a bigger plan in mind.

“I will no longer fight you Crispy. Do with me whatever you like.” he sat down and crossed his legs.

“No!” yelled Crispy, “Come on, fight me! You will not rob me of my glory!”

“What’s stopping you?” asked Fearless, “I will not feed into this nonsense.”

“Fine you coward!” yelled Crispy, “I know what to do with you.” he struck Fearless with lightning and turned him into a rag doll, “I WIN!!”

Buzzy made it out to the tunnel at the bottom of the mountain of San Blue. He hit the brakes on his bike then looked back. All he could see was the mountain tower and the thunder and lightning whoa in the heavens. Buzzy didn’t know what to expect. Suddenly he heard a kid yell,

“Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The end is here! The Savior of Mount San Blue is defeated.” It was a short, stocky, grey blue eyed pit bulldog holding a newspaper that read “The End Is Here” Buzzy looked at him as the little dog looked back and he ran to him,

  “Hey DJ B-Quick!” he said.

  “Who are you?” asked Buzzy.

“The names Snax,” he answered, “Haven’t you heard? Read about it. I know that news papers are played out due to our modern technology but hey, it still has to be distributed no less.” he handed Buzzy a newspaper. It read that Grandmaster Fearless has been defeated. He was overpowered by the awesomeness of MC Crispy and he turned Fearless into a rag doll. MC Crispy has single handedly taken over San Blue. Buzzy dropped the paper.

“No way!” Buzzy yelled, “Already? The fight is over already?” he looked up and there was no longer a thunderstorm. A phone alert went off on Snaxs phone.
